“Living People” A Poem By Ben.Siran 11

Emotionless passing cars !
Following the known lines,
Afraid of old scents floating around.

With trembling scared colorless eyes,
Moving toward the unknown gray target .
Fulfilled with black and white lies !
No desire for opening their frozen heart.

They pretend serious but their soul cries !
Living their routine life is their complete art ,
Deep inside , flying objects show many “why”s .
People of everyday ! people of the chart !

The rhyme scheme is impressive: the poem begins with irregular, unrhymed lines, and progresses to two matched quatrains! The ideas enter my heart: suddenly I feel that my city, Chicago, and an Iranian city are not so different after all. Perhaps we are all moving (being moved?) toward a gray target, afraid to ask the hard questions. Thank you for this poem!
